1.
Do I need a doctor's referral for physiotherapy treatment?
No. But we recommend that you contact your private health insurance
company, since they may require a medical referral to authorise
reimbursement of treatment charges.
2..
Will the cost of physiotherapy be covered by my medical
insurance?
Yes, if the physiotherapist is Chartered and State Registered.
Please check with your insurance company before starting treatment,
since they may need to authorise treatment..

problems? Or is it only useful for muscle injuries?
At the Chester Back Pain & Sports Injury Clinic, our Chartered
physiotherapists are qualified to treat all spinal problems.

How does Chartered physiotherapy differ from other forms
of healing - such as osteopathy?
So-called 'alternative' therapies differ widely, but the overall
principles practiced by them are included in Chartered physiotherapy.

How do I know if my physiotherapist is fully qualified?
All Chartered physiotherapists have undergone extensive training
and have completed the necessary academic examinations in order
for them to practice. Their names will be suffixed by MCSP and
SRP, which prove that they are State Registered.
6.
Can a physiotherapist manipulate?
All Chartered physiotherapists with the appropriate postgraduate
training are allowed to manipulate.

We attempt to offer an appointment within 24 hours.
8. How long does each session last?
It takes around 45 minutes for the initial consultation, and approximately
30 minutes for a follow-up session.
9.
What should I wear at my consultation?
Your therapist will need to see the affected part of your body.
